Q&A

  • Cancellations and Refunds
Bookings may be cancelled or altered (subject to availability) up to 3 weeks before the date of the booking for a full refund. Between 3 weeks and a week before the date of the booking, you may change your booking or cancel and receive a credit note. If your lesson is cancelled due to poor weather, you will be issued a credit note for your cancelled booking for you to use for a future lesson. 48 hours prior to the booking date, no refunds or credit notes will be given (subject to circumstances). Your booking will be made available for the public. If your child is sick and does not attend, you will still need to pay for the session. The reason this policy is in place, is to allow all those on our waiting list to have a chance to enjoy the fun too!
  • What happens when a lesson/course is booked up and I’m placed on a waiting list?
For all people currently on a waiting list, you will be notified via the provided email if someone cancels their place on your desired course. Our waiting list starts from the top and works its way down. Each person will have 10 minutes to book their slot before it goes to the next person on the list. If you do not book within those 10 minutes, it will automatically notify the next person on the list. You will miss your slot!
  • Q- How Does ABC Skateboarding Differentiate Between a ‘Beginner’ & an ‘Improver’ Student?
A- Our lessons focus on developing fundamental skateboarding skills from the very beginning. There is no clear definition on what we consider to be an ‘Improver.’ However, once we see our students dropping in on ramps, but more importantly, using a skatepark independently and safely, we start to consider them for our Improver courses. It’s important to note that we all learn at different rates, but we will always aim to make your skateboarding experience a good one.
  • Q- What Can I Do if the Course I Want is Fully-Booked?
A- We make all of our courses as available to everyone as we can. Due to high demand, we can't guarantee everyone will get their desired place, as our classes are all capped at 16. We do this to create the best learning environment for all of our students. If one of our courses is booked, there are alternative courses to book onto. We will always try our best to find a course that suits you. 1-2-1 lessons are always readily available for everyone too!
  • Q- What is the Best Way to Stay Updated on Our Lessons/Courses?
A- We try to be as informative as possible to keep everyone in the loop with everything ABC Skateboarding. The best way to keep up to date with lessons is via social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc) and our website.
  • Q- Will Lessons Be Cancelled Due to Bad Weather?
A- We pride ourselves on putting our student's safety first. If your course is based in an outdoor setting/skatepark, we will provide everyone with fair notice before cancelling lessons. When it rains, our skateboard wheels lose traction and can unfortunately cause unnecessary injury. Additionally, water and skateboards aren't the best friends. Water damage to your skateboard causes the components to seize and rust. We want your skateboard to last as long as possible and we want you to be safe in our lessons. If your course or lesson is based inside, lessons will continue despite any adverse weather conditions.
  • Q- How Do I Sign Up For a Skateboard Lesson/Course?
A- All lessons/courses can be booked and paid for on the website. All you have to do is find the lesson/course you want to attend and follow the instructions.
  • Q- What Do I Need to Wear?
A- When you come skateboarding it is best to wear flat sturdy shoes (or even better, skate shoes) with relaxed fitting jeans/joggers, a jumper and your own HELMET & PADS (Until restrictions ease further TBC). You're more than welcome to wear a t-shirt and shorts if it's hot, but please provide your own suncream.
  • Q- When Do You Hold 1-2-1 Lessons
A- All of our coaches have different times and days that they are available to conduct 1-2-1 lessons.  For availbility and booking, please click here.
  • Q-How Old Do You Have to Be?
A- We teach skaters of all ages. However, if you are looking to join an after school club, we start our public lessons at ages 5+. Fo anyone under 5, we can provide a 1-2-1 lesson with the skater to ensure they can be fully integrated into our primary courses.
  • Q-Are the Coaches Qualified to Work With Young People?
A- Of course. All of our ABC Skateboarding Coaches receive full in-house training. All coaches are qualified and have recieved DBS, Child Safeguarding and First Aid training.
